The Body Tec's Journey

My healthy lifestyle journey hasn’t always been smooth sailing, and it still isn’t. My job is pretty much sitting behind my desk for most of the day. When it comes to eating healthy I have got that one down, but getting enough exercise has always been more of a challenge for me.

I always was too busy or too tired to make time for exercise. Fitting exercise into my routine is something I had to work on. 10 years ago on my 30th birthday I got myself a personal trainer. He really helped lay the foundation to improve and optimize my exercise habits.

Finding enough time always remained an issue (or excuse) when it comes to fitting exercise in my busy schedule. When heard about how time efficient and effective Electro Muscle Stimulation was, I wanted to learn more about it. I read that EMS could also help treating many types of pain (Due to running up and down hill on Saint Martin, I have developed a bad case of knee pain), after doing much research I decided to try EMS training.

The first session I was nervous, it does sound it bit scary to put on a suite that uses electrical current to pump your muscles. But it did help to look like Lara Croft when suiting up ( ;

We started with a quick test. The current started on a low intensity and increased gradually according to my comfort level and my personal wishes. The feeling was a gentle tingling vibration throughout my body, not that bad at all!!

After my first couple sessions I could really see that this was indeed a fast and efficient workout. I started seeing the results of EMS training, within 3 to 4 sessions, and I was hooked! That’s when I decided to become a certified EMS trainer to be able to help myself and my clients even better!

Eating unhealthy, drinking (more) alcohol, high stress and less exercise has resulted in a rise in overweight during the pandemic. Being overweight increases the risk of diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and more illnesses.
